Goodles Mover & Shaker Review
Goodles Mover & Shaker

So much mac and cheese, so little time. I’ve been aware of Goodles for a while now. We need to acknowledge how great their marketing department is at their job. Every time I search for mac and cheese articles, it is one of the top results no matter what search term I use. When I spotted them at Target, it was time to see what the fuss was all about (and to add to my ever-growing stash of mac and cheese). The Goodles Mover and Shaker box didn’t hang out in my pantry very long and it may be my new favorite box of mac and cheese.

I’m a sucker for good branding. It’s why I can’t buy a good bottle of wine to save my life. I’ll snag the one with the prettiest label, regardless of whether it’s actually a type of wine I’ll enjoy. Because of this, I didn’t have high expectations for this mac and cheese. The branding is gorgeous. There’s a freaking unicorn on the box telling me it tastes great. And generally, if you have to tell me it tastes good there’s a good chance it doesn’t.

The Goodles Mover & Shaker mac and cheese is cacio e pepe inspired. They give you two different instructions to choose through for preparation. The first option is to add 1/4 milk and the cheese packet and that’s it. Alternatively, you can add a few tablespoons of butter and a little of pasta water with your cheese sauce packet. I used the second option.

This mac and cheese is so good! I generally expect to have to doctor mac and cheese that I don’t make myself, but this was surprisingly perfect. Especially considering it didn’t require many extra ingredients that didn’t come with it.

It’s worth noting the portion size is small. The three of us ate it as a side for sandwiches, but if you’re going to make a meal out of it, prepare a couple boxes. It would make a fabulous side for fried chicken, sandwiches, or even a burger. I’m going to keep a couple boxes on had for mac and cheese emergencies.
